  • RE: How My Big Boobs Ruined My Life

    1. I just wanted to prove my writing ability to myself... I thank those who appreciated the humor. You guys would live longer, I promise.

    2. I want to point out that I KNOW 34C is not a big deal in Europe/America....but it is to Asians. Chinese people jack up the bra size so people with the smaller boobies (majority) would feel like they have bigger breasts. Therefore, people with the actual size won't be able to find a (nice) bra in an Asian store. I guess it's the trauma from the past that still lingers in my head...it caused me to write on Xanga afterall.

    3. I said "I remember walking in an ASIAN bra store" I didn't say I was unable to find a cute bra...it was just the Asian bra stores. I wasn't able to find one THERE. Seriously, caucasian girls would probably NOT be able to pick out a nice bra there. I'm not even exaggerating. If you don't believe me, try visiting Hong Kong. That being said, LaSenza rocks. Actually I managed to find ONE in a big department store in Hong Kong...it costed about 90 bucks American. So yeah, it's not fair.

    4. I said I don't fit in any stereotypes, I didn't say I'd like to.

    5. I thank all the 34C and above Asian girls that understand what I mean by it's a big deal when it shouldn't be. I understand that they're not "THAT BIG" obviously, there are bigger. That's the thing though, I'm not blowing this out of proportion, as everything I said has actually happened to me BECAUSE of my bra size. Size is all relative, really.

    6. Thanks for all the advice on wearing clothes...I need it. It's so difficult to wear a tank top on a hot summer day without feeling like a slut when I walk outside. That, to me..sucks..so any ideas on that?

    7. You know, honestly, this was meant to be a reality humor post... don't take it too seriously. I'm not struggling in a life or death situation, I just thought a good population of girls with big boobies might get what I'm talking about. Certain comments I get from fellow xangans show exactly what I mean, by girls going catty with me. WHY? It's XANGA for God's sake!

    8. I do not flaunt my boobies by wearing skanky clothing, at least, I don't mean to.

    9. Several people have written that I think about them too much.... I don't know how they would know this, as I only meant to write this as a humor/slice of life post. Not to mention, people with big boobs actually kinda know what I mean...it's not the actual size that matters, but how other people make you feel about them. Isn't that what xanga is for? To pour out feelings and (on datingish) vent about relationships in order to reach out to other people that might have a similar sob story so you can tell eachother "it's okay"???

    10. Maybe it's not entirely my boobies and by junk-in-the-trunk...I actually walked out ..with a knee-length winter jacket and got the attention of a really nasty creep -_-;;. Maybe I'll save that mystery for another post.

    11. I want to find a nice bra because I'm an artistic person, I express everything in colours and matching themes and whatnot. Underwear is for ME, not for other people... but I still want to feel good about 'em. How would you feel, if you walk in a store to buy your first wire bra to get that kinda treatment? I was in grade 8, so I would obviously not wear granny panties....Hence, why would I want to wear granny-style(or lack of style) bras? I was traumatized, because I didn't even know what cups and numbers mean...I needed advice, and the sales lady gave me crap.

    12. So I guess the correct analogy for a guy is, if you were getting your FIRST car, and you ask the salesman for advice, but the salesman tells you "dumb blondes can't drive, they don't make nice cars for dumb blondes like you, so go that great-grandfather-hand-me-down-broken-tricycle instead." Does that make any sense? Your hair colour isn't the point, but it's the treatment you get because of it. It's kinda like how being Caucasian or having blond hair isn't such a big deal, until you live in some Chinese village in Asia, or Asians in southern Texas vice versa. I know it's not a big deal..it's the treatment because you're different.

Sports bras work well. They make the boobs look smaller and they won't jiggle. :)

Darker colors make them look smaller too. Black hides them, but white makes them look HUUUUUGE.

  • Brandon_lil_boy@xanga

Haha I'm asian too! I'm just surprised to hear that asian girls fake their boob size with jacked up bra sizes...maybe Im just too blunt to notice it all. I wouldn't wear a XXL boxers, because it would be uncomfortable. I agree with you when you said something about your not trying to look skanky, but your just trying to live your life. But guys just can't help to look sometimes when a cute girl walks by. hahaha It sounds weird but it's a guy's nature. As long as you don't act skanky then have no fear in what you wear, just live your life. Another thing is, say what you want to say on xanga. It's freedom of speech, it's your right as a person to speak your feelings.

  • love_hate_whats_new

@Brandon_lil_boy@xanga - Yeah.... if you google the bra size of certain celebs even...they tell you that they're a B when they're clearly an A... -__-;; Maybe it's a new way of sizing.... the size of the bra actually reflects what the boobies would appear to look like after a lil' push.

  • Brandon_lil_boy@xanga

@love_hate_whats_new - I like asian girls regardless. hahaha! I have lived my life in a asian neighborhood. I still can't believe I didn't know...one my best friends is a girl, but i didn't think she would do something like that. hahaha it's doesn't matter as long as you are a good person right?

  • love_hate_whats_new

@Brandon_lil_boy@xanga - oh no no no.... it's not like the GIRLS go out and change the bra size....but shops just magically adjusts sizes....so MOST Asian girls have 2 sizes, one when they go to a store like LaSenza..and another when they go to an Asian store that doesn't sell name brand bras. I, for example, would be a 34E.

However, it has been a while since I've been to an Asian bra store.... so maybe it changed? I don't see why they would....I guess you can't blame me for not liking their service enough to never go back.

Even stores like Zara for guys make the shirt sizes smaller, so guys can feel better wearing a large that fits them well. (Don't quote me on the Zara, I've only been told by my guy friends).

i liked ur entry...it was funny and seriously made my day. u had some points...and they hold in my world of opinions. this is coming from a med student from afar. go get whatever degree u want to prove u have boobs and brains XD i dont see how both cant exist at the same time :P

  • Konrado@xanga

I won't think lesser of you because of your larger then regular boobies

  • salamone27@xanga

i will say this that stereo type is incorrect.... asian are a bit smaller in size so a size c or b on them looks like a b or a on other races.. it really isn't to big of a problem a girl that is worried about it can easily fix them... that is why you see so many people with fake ones cause they have small ones or bad shape.

  • rounded_out@xanga

Hey girl.  I love that you were trying to be lighthearted.  I don't know why anyone would tell you it's not a big deal.  Big deal or not, it's a blog - it's meant to be just what's on your mind, duh.

I am Asian and a 34 D.  (Now that I'm pregnant I'm somewhere in the 34DD neighborhood, but I'll get to that later.)  I guess I never had the catty issue you're talking about - but I am an engineer, where the female population is low and the male population is too socially awkward to hit on me directly.  All in all, I lived a relatively quiet existance.  But I also was told it was probably because I never dressed my boobs "up".  My husband jokes about this all the time.  Also, I think I might have always wanted to have more female friends - so I tend to make myself more helpful and accomodating to my female friends so that they can see that I'm not a stuck up bitch or anything.  I dont' think they even think about my body as much as they think I have a warm personality (I hope).  Plus, all my female friends have big boobs too - so that might have something to do with it.

I love my boobs.  I dont' hate them.  I also am grateful for having a body I am proud of.  When I was a little overweight in high school, I wanted to be fit.  In college and afterwards - I got myself to a point where I had toned abs, etc.  I also graduated from college at 19 - so YES you can be pretty AND smart. It's all in the attitude.  I'm sure there were girls who were catty - but those girls would be catty even if you didn't have boobs at all.  There are more girls who are NOT catty out there.  And I found that in the smart girl population -they come in all shapes and sizes and are all funny and great to talk with.

So for dressing up - I wear size 2 or size 4 shirts, dresses, and pants.  I wear button up shirts tucked in with the top 2 buttons unbuttoned (no more).  If I can wear button up shirts from Express and Bebe with a 34D, you can too.  If you can't keep only 2 buttons undone, then go one size up.  I found that wearing XS or size 0 tops that I can "almost" button up (would button up all the way up to my bra strap) - will ultimately draw more attention to my girls.  Good for clubbing or turning on my husband, probably not for the grocery store.

When it is hot outside, I wear dresses, lady-like Jessica Alba type dresses.  So I'm always dressed up, but not "slutty" or borderline stripper.  I am in a job where I meet customers all the time, so I make it a point to wear dry clean only type clothes that get pressed and give off a certain vibe.  I don't wear wife beater or spaghetti tanks (unless they are under off the shoulder sweaters) or I'm going to bed.

I think finding what clothes work for you will make a big difference for you.  When I went from my college kid clothes to my professional wardrobe - I did notice that people did take me more seriously.  I am proud of my intellect, and feel blessed I got a body that I know other people would want.  You shouldn't feel bad about it at all.  Just like you shouldnt' feel bad about being Asian, for instance.  It's what makes you who you are - and it's awesome.

    all girls are jealous bitches
    all guys are horny assholes

    lol
    I think you sound cool

  • love_hate_whats_new

@EveryoneHASaDesire@xanga - not all....but many in my past were ;)

    hahahaha

    thanks.

  • annaaisaabel@xanga

Thanks for your great comment on my xanga btw, I guess I needed a pick-up.

#8 is totally me, I have a bigger cup size than you and any shirt that would be a decent cut on anyone else would be too low for me. Everyone would say "OOH, cleavage!" And I just want to comeback at them and say "yeah, where's yours?"

  • the_imperfect@xanga

:P Fellow Asian with big boobies! Hahah.

Let's see, for hot summer days, avoid those cute lacy tank tops. They're tempting, I know. It's unfair we can't wear them, I know. :[ But they're really unflattering. Halter tops will work wonders, though! And because it's hot, tight clothing would really suck, so maybe a Bohemian look would be nice? Shirts that are a bit loose and float away from your body slightly.

    Kind of like this: http://www.forever21.com/images/large/56870692-01.jpg

    For cute bras: http://www2.victoriassecret.com/collection/?cgname=OSBRPBBVBRA&cgnbr=OSBRPBBVBRA&rfnbr=5706

They're not all cute and polka-dotty, but some are lace and pretty nice-looking with good support. Look for bras with thick straps. I also recommend Lilyette minimizer bras.

Let those catty girls be. They won't understand what trouble big boobies can cause. :P

  • EveryoneHASaDesire@xanga

    I tell you its jealously
    wear them proud
    and guys... well
    good one will come along
I mean my friend who is a size 2
    with an A cup
still has the jealous girl thing
(I am jealous of her and I have a c cup)
and obnoxious guys hits on her all the time
    its a beautiful thing
    not a boob thing
but the whole cleavage thing is completely unfair
I hate how limited our wardrobes is

  • love_hate_whats_new

@the_imperfect@xanga - where do you find the minimizers?

  • B1ANCACACA@xanga

I'm not Asian but I understood what you were trying to say completely :]

  • HiROBii@xanga

hey wear like a half hoodie on top of ur tank top in the summer. my friend does that and i think it looks fine. u know those half hoodies that are like, cut just below ur chest and u can just leave it unzipped >.> im not sure what they're called officially hahaha -___-''' but yeaa~~ try it out. and dont wear sports bras. they're gross and they make ur boobs sag in the long run. when u're older u'll regret wearing sports bras cuz they also make u get a hunch back if u always wear it. yep, dats my advice :D hope it helps >.> and thanks for the post, it was pretty funny xD

  • love_hate_whats_new

    @HiROBii@xanga - wow sick.... I gotta find myself a half-hoodie

  • vvorldsapart@xanga

i thought your original post was hilarious. good luck!

  • love_hate_whats_new

@vvorldsapart@xanga - I like people who appreciate humour...you'll live longer. hahaha, seriously.

I kind of understand what you're saying... I'm 30FF, which was not a size that I even knew existed until recently! But if you are struggling to get bras that suit you in Asian stores, why not just order them from online shops that have a better range?

The only cool bras I can get that fit me come all the way from a shop in the UK to my house in NZ!

And I hope that at some point you can be comfortable enough with your body to wear whatever you like... I'm a construction engineer and work with mostly men, so I have to consider my decency... but hey, when I'm not at work, sometimes I WANT to wear tight/low cut tops (and sometimes I don't, and then I just wear my boyfriends jumper!).

Only idiots (male or female) would judge you based on your boobs... everyone has to live in their own skin, so there isn't much point worrying about what everyone else thinks

    Good luck!
